Who ICODAAS

The International Conference on Drug Abuse and Addiction Studies (ICODAAS) is an international scientific event committed to advancing knowledge, policy, and practice in the field of substance use and addiction. The conference serves as a collaborative platform for researchers, clinicians, educators, and policymakers to exchange cutting-edge findings, share real-world practices, and discuss the social and psychological dimensions of drug-related issues.

ICODAAS is chaired by Professor Dr. Dr. (h.c.) Marilyn A. Huestis, one of the most respected and influential figures in the global toxicology and addiction science community. With over two decades as Chief of Chemistry and Drug Metabolism at the U.S. National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Professor Huestis has shaped the scientific landscape of controlled drug research. She has authored over 580 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters, and her research has led to major advancements in understanding cannabinoids, kratom, impaired driving, prenatal drug exposure, and drug testing technologies.

Her academic and advisory roles span the globe—from Thomas Jefferson University to the University of New Mexico, Barts & The London School of Medicine, and the World Anti-Doping Agency. Professor Huestis has been honored with numerous lifetime achievement awards, including the 2023 CMCR Pioneer in Medicinal Cannabis Research Award and the 2021 AACC Outstanding Lifetime Achievement Award, among many others. Her work is widely recognized as both visionary and impactful.

ICODAAS 2025 will be held in Antalya, Turkey, from November 9–11, under the theme “Innovative Approaches in Combating Substance Abuse: Bridging Research and Practice.” With Professor Huestis at the helm, the conference promises a rich, forward-thinking agenda that will inspire meaningful progress in drug policy, prevention, and treatment across disciplines and borders.
